Matthias Kohlmann is the owner of Carbonero SAS in Punta del Este. From Uruguay, he drives technology transfer and sustainable project developments. His focus is on implementing self-sufficient energy and business concepts in the construction and real estate sector, which he intelligently controls, optimizes, and automates through the use of IT and smart grid technologies.
Andrés Rinaldi is an entrepreneur and founder focused on projects in the fields of innovation, energy,and sustainability. As a partner at Carbonero Energy, he plays an active role in the commercial and strategic development of solutions for waste recovery, energy generation, and emerging environmental technologies.
His goal is to advance projects that combine economic development, technological innovation, and a strong commitment to a more sustainable future in Brazil and across South America.
Mario Rajic is an investor and entrepreneur based in Uruguay, who strategically uses his extensive experience from the international banking sector to expand renewable energy in Latin America. From the economically stable hub of Uruguay, he structures green infrastructure projects and, as the owner of Carbonero Energy and initiator of Urupé, promotes sustainable decarbonization concepts and regional eco-innovations.
Sebastián Isaías Rocha is an Argentine auditor and specialist in innovation management and technology transfer. After many years of working in the public sector of the province of Córdoba – including in industrial policy and from 2013 to 2015 as an advisor to the Minister of Energy for gasification projects – he emigrated to Uruguay in 2020. Since then, he has been managing high-profile investment projects in the private sector from Punta del Este, including the Trump Tower Punta del Este and Uruguay Property.
Björn M. Otto is an engineer in electrical engineering and a patent attorney (DE/EP) with years of experience in technical development and project management in the German automotive industry. As a patent attorney, he has been involved for nearly two decades in the capture and legal protection of complex technical inventions and the drafting of licensing agreements. Additionally, he brings in-depth expertise for industrial production facilities. Furthermore, Björn is himself an inventor and holder of numerous patents. Since 2026, he has been advising Carbonero Energy directly from South America.
Stepan Kusche is a graduate chemical engineer with many years of experience in technical and engineering projects. His professional focus includes plant engineering, process and environmental engineering, as well as the development and support of technical projects.
At Carbonero Energy, he serves as Technical Director of Research and Development, Senior Supervisor, and Project Development. In this role, he supports technical development and accompanies projects from initial concept through implementation.
